Many expert sneakerheads went on record as saying that 2011 was filled with the most heat of any year in history, an assertion bolstered by the Air Jordan III’s 23rd anniversary bringing along with it three of the four original colorways. Jordan Brand kept the momentum going this year, bringing the Air Jordan IV back in a couple of palettes we haven’t seen since the heels read ‘NIKE AIR’. And as we approach the ‘White Cement’ Air Jordan 4 Retro release date tomorrow, Complex’s ‘desert island’ division has come up with a list of Fours nobody should do without under any circumstances. The top five are all OGs with the exception of what might be the most notorious Air Jordan Retro+ of all time, but what about the rest of the list? Populated with newer palettes, a top 10 including four originals means quite a few were forced out of contention; would you have added something like the groundbreaking ‘Laser’ AJIV or maybe the ‘Columbias’ that first gave us the Jumpman-insigned heel badge? Oreos or Cool Greys maybe? As with any “best of” list, it’s pretty subjective to personal tastes, so let us know what you think of Complex’s 10 selections and which omissions you would have liked to see crack the list.
