The mayhem surrounding the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Galaxy’ came to a boiling point last night, as various House of Hoops locations across the nation experienced immeasurable discord and dystopia that required intervention by police authorities. In reaction to the events and keeping the security and safety of the community in mind, Foot Locker released official information regarding the cancellation of the Nike All-Star releases at a number of their House of Hoops locations. The Galaxy Foamposites have generated an immense of amount of popularity that perhaps Nike and the retail locations did not anticipate, and sellers looking to cash in on the craze have begun to list their pick-ups on eBay – with one auction (most likely a guff listing) garnering an inordinate amount of attention that will likely see a final bid of over $100,000 (those Blackout XIs seem like a bargain now, don’t they?).
Up until last night, the release of the Pigeon SB Dunk was considered the most notorious sneaker release of this generation, but just to give you an idea of how it pales in comparison – there were many ‘Pigeon SB Dunk’ situations going on within one location, and what saddens the entire ordeal is that the shoe in question never even made it outside the store! Update 2/24, 10:45am EST: Due to safety concerns, the Foot Locker House of Hoops stores in South Park Mall and Crabtree Valley Mall are canceling the All-Star releases this weekend (product list below). Our priority is the safety of the community. Thank you for your understanding. The following Foot Locker House of Hoops stores have also canceled the All-Star releases: Florida Mall, Pembroke Mall, University Mall in Tampa, Southlake Mall and PG Plaza.
