Nike Lunar Montreal – Action Red – Volt

Earlier this week Sneaker News have you a look at the Nike Lunar Montreal – a space-age rendition of one of the earliest Nike models to ever grace the planet. The Nike Pre Montreal, the shoe that serves as the inspiration behind this rehashed original, holds a ton of history in the Nike annals, but the story behind it is actually a bit somber. It’s not one of heroic championship winning respect (although it would have been), but Steve Prefontaine was set to wear the Montreal, but passed away before the big race from a tragic car accident.
