With today’s preponderance of hybrid sneaker designs, it’d only be natural to see the name of Hussein Chalayan‘s latest design for Puma and expect some kind of mashup. And while the new Puma Urban Conflate was inspired by sailing and kite flying and seeks to capture the interplay of sport, motion and speed, they basically look like a Euro-sleek take on classic lowtop silhouettes like the Nike Bruin, adidas Gazelle and even a little of Puma’s own Roma.
