It’s hard to predict the results when two worlds collide. We’ve seen Nike put out some interesting hybrids and combinations that seem to make sense in theory or on paper, but none has made more sense than the Nike Air Trainer 1 ‘Safari’, slated to release at select Nike Sportswear retailers next month. It combines two of Nike’s most time-honored classics born in what might be one of the greatest years of Nike (1987), using the Air Trainer 1 as the body and the Air Safari as the flair with the signature colorway blocked perfectly on the upper. The Air Trainer 1 ‘Safari’ has been one of the most trending units here on Sneaker News and should be a hit with fans of old-school Nike – but how will it fare with the newer crowd that has experienced far more exposure to Nike Basketball, Jordans, and Foamposites?
