Back in February, Lil’ Wayne conducted an interview with Vibe in which he mentioned that his brand Truckfit won’t be creating its own sneaker line, but that a Weezy sneaker would indeed be upcoming. About two months later, Tunechi confirmed that the partnership would be a continuation of his relationship with Supra, a brand he’d been spotted wearing back in the ‘A Milli’ days when the Crown brand was just getting off the ground. Fast forward to today and an official press release announces to the world that “Supra and Lil Wayne have forged an exclusive relationship that will result in a collection of footwear inspired and overseen by Lil Wayne and manufactured by Supra.” It remains to be seen when these products will arrive at retail and if Wayne’s role ends up being closer to Swizz Beatz’ relationship with Reebok than something like Jeremy Scott x adidas, and with all the ‘Olympic’ and other heat coming up this summer, are you ready for something like a ‘500 Degreez’ Skytop III? Let us know what you think about the Supra x Lil’ Wayne partnership and stick with Sneaker News for more details.
