Believe it or not – roller skating is actually a big part of Black-American history. As America was getting closer to the end of segregation, the Chicago Roller Skating Rink, which was around since the late 1800’s, was the first to open its doors to Blacks. Since then, the fun indoor activity became a major part of American culture as a whole (and it still goes strong today!). We stumbled on this rare piece of vintage sports memorabilia – an original pair of Air Jordan 1 roller-skates; these, however, were not the first Nike roller skates, as we saw a pair of Nike Killshot skates that date back to the late 70’s/early 80’s, and certainly not the last (remember when Russell Westbrook flossed his True Blue skates?). So just how much does a collectible like this go for? Check for yourself by hitting up the listing from smokeysstash on eBay.
