As recently as this spring a nearly forgotten memory held by only the most seriously dedicated sneakerheads, the New Balance 1600 has returned in 2012 with a curious progression. The CM1600 popped up in a lovely ‘Heritage Blue’ style back in July, but Frank the Butcher soon let the world know that there should have been two blue Sixteen Hundreds that week. Boylston’s ‘Liberty, Freedom & Justice’ trio might go down as NB’s finest unreleased samples ever, but don’t expect this overlooked classic to simply slip into the shadows again. To the contrary, we see new colorways coming up for next spring, this new red-accented edition joining a similar blue pair Ronnie Fieg showed off about two weeks ago. There’s plenty of little-‘N’ goodness on tap over the next few months, so stick with Sneaker News for release info and click through for more below in the meantime.
