Tomorrow, Nike Sportswear will elongate the legacy of Penny Hardaway by releasing the Nike Air Penny V – an unprecedented signature basketball for sneaker for an inactive NBA player. Designed as a continuation of where it left off in late ’99 while using contemporary materials, the Penny V does in fact carry that old-school 90’s ‘Avar’ flavor with the curvy waves on the midsole a la the Air Penny II, but with Hyperfuse and a reworked Max Air unit on the heel, the Penny V could fit right in with today’s Nike Basketball roster-fillers. Red Eagle is a tribute to Penny’s earliest days at Treadwell High School, so it makes sense that the ‘Red Eagle’ gets the honor of debuting the model. Cop them tomorrow at select Nike Sportswear retailers or right now from 95soleman on eBay.
