The last time we saw the Sock Racer, it wasn’t a Sock Racer at all, but rather, the original colorway ported over to a Lunar Mariah as part of Size?’s dope Lightweight Runners Pack. This pair pictured above has seen its sole swapped out as well, but pairing a barefoot-mimicking bottom with the neoprene bootie upper is as natural as adding a little more anachronistic flare with some Safari print on the overlay. The Nike Free Sock Racer is a symbol of Nike Running and its enduring commitment to innovation, and as we come off a ‘Thunder’-struck Christmas, this yellow and black OG colorup is positioned to bring back the buckle in a big way. Let us know how these compare to some of its recently retroed peers (Air Flow, Air Current and other recent Free updates come to mind) and stick with Sneaker News for release info.
