Dikembe Mutombo’s wagging finger made a hilarious comeback in those GEICO ads, but one thing he can’t deny is the return of his official shoe with adidas – the adidas Mutombo. Though these are more of a visual attractions rather than a technological marvel, the adidas Mutombo arrives at a time when Retro is the hot item for all footwear brands across the board. adidas’ catalog of signature shoes in the 20th Century is rather slim, so after the Mutombo, there isn’t much that adidas Originals can go back to – unless more T-Mac signatures or even the Arenas line gets a second run. July is the reported month of release, so until then, we’ll keep you updated on any relevant information until we get an official release date.
