When Patrick Ewing set out to release his own sneaker, he did so in a nontraditional fashion by starting his own brand (this took MJ fourteen years to do with the help of Nike). This might explain why Ewing Athletics has come and gone, and why a retro release took so long to orchestrate. But after the Ewing Focus dropped this past July in an OG ‘Knicks’ colorway things continue to push ahead for Ewing retros. Now the Blue Suede” and white/red Focus colorways are on their way for an August 3rd release date.
