adidas used an ‘oil spill’ iridescent effect to unite a number of basketball releases both new and retro last year. In 2014, the first use of a similar style is reserved for three classics from three different sports, each representing a different decade. From the 1970s, we have the recently resurrected adidas Originals Stan Smith. The ’80s are represented by the Enforcer basketball hightop and the ’90s come into play with the original Tech Super runner. All three have iridescent treatments applied to their Italian leather uppers, and this luxurious yet expressive pack will hit stores next Saturday, February 1st.
