Jordan Brand gave us so many Air Jordan 5 releases both old and new last year, but there’s always room for more when we’re talking about a beloved retro like this one. But JB has to make decisions from time to time about which potential releases should be left unsold, and that’s exactly what happened to this pair pictured above. This sample was created as a possible drop during the mid-00s AJ5 retro run, and seems to have lost out to the Deep Burgundy colorway that hit in December 2006, though the initial drop might have actually been scheduled for the following quarter.
