The Nike Air Safari was the first Nike shoe to look to the ostrich for inspiration, although those sneakers didn’t mimic the skin of that animal too closely. In modern times, you’ll find those sort of bumps across a whole variety of Nike Retro releases, the latest of them being this black and white Nike Air Pegasus ’89. Mind you their usage of that material is pretty limited – you’ll only find it on some of the white pieces towards the top half of the shoe.
