Before their was Air Max there was just Air technology. The gas encapsulated in polyurethane on the shoe’s base became a staple for the Swoosh thanks to inventor M. Frank Rudy, but it wasn’t displayed until Tinker designed the Air Max 1. The first shoe to implement the technology was the Nike Air Tailwind, and that fact can’t be overlooked. Today the shoe continues to be retroed featuring that nylon upper in a number of vibrant colorways, as this Vivid Sulfur/Action Red pair proves that the shoe can hold down some new shades.
