The days of saving up for retros with a fast food paycheck are happily over for many of us, but for those who’ve arrived in the grown up food industry, one of chefs and line cooks moving swiftly across an often slippery kitchen floor, finding the right pair to wear is often delegated to the lowest rung on the shoe totem pole – the beater. That’s where Vans latest collaborative project comes in, as they’ve teamed up with Tyler Kord, owner and head chef of the No.7 family restaurants, to create a kitchen-friendly Vans Classic Slip-On. The shoe comes complete with added cushioning to support standing for long periods of time, a siped outsole to prevent slipping, and the patented Vansguard outer coating to help the sneaker repel liquids to keep that clean black base fresher for longer. Be sure to check out some photos of the shoe in action and know that you can grab other Vansguard products complete with the water resistent coating from Vans today.
