Last year when Kendrick Lamar rapped he’d only wear Nike Cortez, sneaker aficionados fell in line, helping the shoe generate a much-needed resurgence since its last spirited run back in the 90’s. Since that time, the shoe has remained relevant, with retro models and other iterations incorporating new Nike materials and technology. Said to be worn by the gang affiliated iin Los Angeles during their hayday, the new “Snakeskin” pack consisting of black and red iterations don’t do much to debunk those theories. Fashioned in premium snakeskin leather, the black and red schemes are offset by white Swoosh branding with matching heel and outer. Tonal laces finish each look, taking this luxe iteration of a simplistic shoe down just a notch to monochrome territory. Take a trip down memory lane after the break and let us know what you think.
