It’s hard to believe that Kevin Durant, a proven elite player with MVP trophies, scoring titles, NBA Finals appearances, and Olympic gold under his belt, is Nike Basketball shortest-tenured signature athlete. Since 2008, Durant has allowed his shoes to connect to his consumers, just like the way he felt when his mom bought him his first Nike signature kicks (a pair of Vince Carter Shox). With that said, don’t you think it’s time Nike ushers in someone new to the exclusive club of Nike sig athletes? This all ties in to this Wednesday’s event in NYC, so stay tuned for the latest because Sneaker News will be attending to this invite-only event.
