The ongoing Aaron Hernandez murder trial just entered the world of sneakers. On the 11th day of the trial, the topic of Hernandez’s footwear was a key discussion point as the defense continued its case for the former New England Patriots star’s acquittal. One of the defense’s tools in convincing jurors of reasonable doubt on the side of Hernandez’s involvement in the Odin Lloyd murder is the accused’s Air Jordans; the defense argues that footprints found on the scene of the crime, which are said to be that of Air Jordans, do not match Hernandez’s size 13.
In addition, the defense insists that the particular sneaker is a popular model owned by many, so the impressions left on the crime scene could not be definitively linked to Hernandez.
