Introducing the Nike LeBron 12 EXT “Rubber City”. Akron, Ohio was once a relevant city for more reasons outside of being the home of the best basketball player in the National Basketball Association. The blue collar city was once a leading rubber manufacturer for tires in the United States before an economic downfall fell upon the town. This LeBron 12 EXT pays homage to the city’s past export with a rubber inspired textile in black complete with an extended tread. You might remember this look when LeBron broke out a similar all-red pair for All-Star Weekend. Here we see the posite overlay take a backseat to the rubber-inspiration as the megafuse is ditched completely. The only non-black portion here is the chrome Swoosh on the side panel followed by the icy outsole. Are you a fan of the look? Early estimates have this LeBron 12 slated for March 21st, but there’s no word yet on how much it will cost. Stay tuned for more in the coming days.
