Nike.com Sales Sees Huge Increase Over Last Three Months Thanks To Mobile Buying

Nike.com Sales Sees Huge Increase Over Last Three Months Thanks To Mobile Buying

Nike Com Sales Q3 2015

Today, Nike announced their Q3 fiscal reports and not surprisingly, their earnings saw a considerable increase (19% to be exact). One interesting bit of info from their report is Nike.com sales were up 42% from the prior fiscal quarter, and more of these purchases were executed through mobile platforms rather than on a desktop. This reflects the continual transition to mobile e-commerce and general consumption of the internet on handhelds as a whole, but credit the big increase in sales to the big-ticket sneaker releases that typically go down in December and February and the new SNKRS App, which has made mobile buying incredibly easy. How do you buy your kicks on Nike.com – do you use a mobile device or are you more comfortable on a desktop/laptop?

Important facts:
– Revenues up 7 percent to $7.5 billion; 13 percent growth excluding currency changes
– Diluted earnings per share up 19 percent to $0.89
– Worldwide futures orders up 2 percent; 11 percent growth excluding currency changes
– Inventories as of February 28, 2015 up 12 percent
