Reception was lukewarm on the Nike Air Max 90 “Cork”, but that had more to do with the shoe’s functionality than the overall aesthetic. The silhouette was a victim of the cork upper, as with each step you could hear audible squeaks. Hopefully that isn’t a problem for this Nike Blazer Mid release, as the cork construction returns to contrast with smooth black leather accents on the heel and vintage oversized Swoosh. It will be interesting to see how Nike Sportswear’s go-to material of the moment fairs after losing some momentum with the Air Max 90, but you’ll have to wait until later this summer to find out.
