Last night, Nike blew up the Twitter-sphere with a simple tweet to Back To The Future franchise star Michael J. Fox, who played the role of Marty McFly. While that doesn’t necessarily signify a release of the self-lacing Mags, inside sources confirm that one pair of self-lacing Nike Mags are in NYC right now. This was similar to the 2011 release when a pair was on display next to a DeLorean in front of 21 Mercer, but the exact location of the power-lacing version hasn’t been confirmed. Stay tuned for more updates as Nike nears an official announcement of historic proportions.
Update: In a letter from Tinker Hatfield to Michael J. Fox, it has been confirmed that self-lacing Nike Mags will release in 2016 with proceeds benefiting Parkinson’s disease research.
