A popular trend in sneakers for a few years but one that’s fallen off a bit within the last couple is the “Year of the…” inspiration from the Chinese zodiac calendar. Remember when every sneaker was decked out in a “Year of the Snake” or Year of the Rabbit” look? Now adidas Basketball looks to keep the trend going with their signature hoops line—or at least the J Wall 2—which we spot here today in a makeover for the Year of the Monkey.
