European Flair, Player Exclusives, Eminem, And More Strange Facts About The Air Jordan II

Jordan 2 Wing It Poster

The Air Jordan II has been around for nearly thirty years, but some of the details behind this luxurious, logo-less sneaker maybe be lost in the vault. Air Jordans, of course, are more than just shoes; they’re tangible artifacts that bring us back to the year Michael Jordan spun some magic on the basketball court. Truth is, the Air Jordan II hardly gets the love that its predecessor or its successors seem to garner, but that doesn’t mean that the shoes are without a backstory.

For one, the Air Jordan II was at the time a very expensive shoe. In fact, it was $40 more than the MSRP of the Air Jordan 1 much in part due to the fact that it was designed in Europe (the shoes are inspired by Italian boots). Nike designer Bruce Kilgore, who designed the Air Force 1, removed the Swoosh logo from it, and also helped develop the cushioning system to be a better fit for MJ’s healing foot. There’s a lot more to the Air Jordan II, so check out a longer list now at Champs Sports.
