Once again, the Nike Kobe line goes back to draft day in 1996, when the Charlotte Hornets selected Kobe Bryant with the 13th pick. As you probably know, the Hornets promptly traded young Kobe to the Lakers, and the rest is history. As they’ve done with previous models, the Kobe 11 gets inspiration from Kobe’s very brief time as a Hornet, with this special Draft Day colorway of the mesh-constructed version of the shoe. The look features a white mesh upper with purple and teal accents throughout, all completed with the date of the ’96 Draft on the right heel.
