With many of New Balance’s Made in USA and UK sneakers breaking the $200 price point now, it’s nice to see one premium release from the brand at an affordable $125. We refer to this new edition of the 999, featuring an all-white croc-embossed leather upper with just a touch of tan leather detailing at the heel. So why are they more affordable? Because the 999 is a model that isn’t (typically) made in the USA or England, instead being produced in the brand’s Asian factories. While most of the Asian-made New Balance models don’t come with quite the same level of quality as the USA and UK constructions, these seem to be on par with the most premium of the brand’s offerings. If you’re convinced, you can find them arriving now at select New Balance retailers around the world.
