Andrew Wiggins and the Minnesota Timberwolves have a lot to look forward to this upcoming season. A young core, a veteran coach, and a roster full of exciting players means that the Wolves could be ready to take a leap in the hyper-competitive Western Conference. They’re a team for the future, so the three stripes decided A.Wiggins needs a basketball model to match that promise.
Enter the adidas Crazy Explosive, the trefoil brand’s latest and greatest in the hoops world. The head-turning silhouette received a Chef Curry like beating on the internet when low res photos initially leaked because people weren’t ready for the high-arching high top. But now that we have a better look, the Primeknit and Boost offering is looking more and more like an advanced performer ready for the rigors of the fast paced game today.
Full-length Boost has become a standard feature on any adidas performance model today, one that we don’t take for granted given the explosive return of energy – hence the name – and a luxurious ride that absorbs impact. One of the more interesting aspects of this model is the lateral TPU roll cage that provides forefront stability to enhance quick cuts to the basket. The Primeknit upper adds a dynamic lightweight ride and ventilation as well.
The adidas Crazy Explosive will debut in a “Solar Red” colorway on August 1st for $150 USD. What do you think of the three stripes’ latest performance hoops model?
