Over 19 styles of the adidas NMD released yesterday here in the states, but for Europe, that big day is coming next Friday, August 26th. U.K. retailer Size? has done us the favor of highlighting the entire NMD family ahead of that massive release slate with high-resolution imagery, ranging from the adidas NMD R1 and the adidas NMD XR1.
The NMD family has been one of the most successful creations for adidas Originals throughout the summer, as a revitalized design showcased just how far the three stripes could push the Primeknit and Boost envelope. The good news is that the adidas NMD release slate shows no sign of slowing down either with plenty of adidas NMD City Sock colorways planned to release in the coming weeks and months.
Today we get a detailed look at the adidas NMD XR1 Primeknit as well, as the newest edition to the ever-expanding and evolving NMD imprint is by far the most futuristic design to date. The freshly minted silhouette utilizes a new plastic support cage on the midfoot section that helps improve stability to the otherwise lightweight, sock-like model. The adidas Boston/ adidas Micropacer inspired midsole “plugs” are still holding down the bottom for added support, but get a slightly overhauled design with thinner constructions. Throw in Primeknit on the upper and a new “Glitch” pattern, and the NMD XR1 is showcasing its unique ability to stand out even in a subtle, refined colorway.
