Nike Sportswear has been celebrating Ken Griffey Jr.’s Hall of Fame induction all throughout 2016, and it’s pretty nice that The Kid’s enshrinement matched up perfectly with the 20th anniversary of his most iconic signature sneaker, the Nike Air Griffey Max 1. We’ve seen a number of OG and new colorways of this 1996 gem release throughout the year, but now the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 is ready for the colder months ahead with this new “Wheat” rendition.
The Nike Air Max Griffey 1 Wheat takes NSW’s favorite Timberland-inspired aesthetic to task with Wheat and Flax shades transforming the performance baseball model into a boot-like colorway. A sandy shade of suede adds a monochromatic finish throughout the upper while a clean white midsole separates a matching gum outsole. What do you think of the look?
There’s no word yet on when exactly this Nike Air Griffey Max 1 Wheat will release, but expect this lifestyle colorway to drop sometime this Fall/Winter 2016 season. More photos below.
