Nike Honors The Past With SB Blazer Mid “78-17”

We here at Sneaker News pride ourselves on bringing you all the facts on new sneakers as soon as we can, but we have to admit, this upcoming edition of the Nike SB Blazer Mid is a bit of a mystery to us. With no official word yet from Nike SB on a story behind the colorway, we’re stumped for now on the meaning behind the color-faded canvas Swooshes and the “78” and “17” text on each leather heel panel with a grid-embossed finish. While we’re certain it must reference something within the history of skateboarding, we’ll all have to wait for word from Nike for the official inspiration as well as a release date.
