German sneaker shop The Good Will Out throws it back to the days of home videos and the rewind button with a VHS-inspired collaboration with Saucony. With perfect execution for what you’d think a VHS sneaker should look like, the Shadow 5000 is chosen for the special edition colorway with an all-black suede, leather, and mesh upper sporting various video tape and VCR references including TV color test stripes on the heel and tongue, control button icons embroidered on the toe, clear lace eyelets representing the clear windows above the tape spools, and clear outsoles inspired by the TV screen that shows a mix of white noise and the TGWO script logo underneath.
Complete with a custom shoe box that looks like a VCR and retro ’80s sticker sheet, the Saucony 5000 “VHS” releases exclusively in-store at The Good Will Out this Saturday, August 5th. As an added bonus, the first customers will get an original VHS tape featuring a classic movie from the ’80s.
