We already know that the Air Jordan 12 and Nike Air More Uptempo will join the annual Nike Freestyle Collection benefiting the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and now we learn that the VaporMax will be one of the sneakers in the collection as well. Surfacing over the weekend on Instagram was a colorway of the VaporMax on par with the colorful creations by children at the hospital we’ve seen in past collections. The unique version was done by 15-year old Andrew Merydith, who is battling cystic fibrosis. It features a bright royal blue and neon lime Flyknit upper inspired by his favorite football team, the Seattle Seahawks, with purple laces and special added details like #ILOVETHEFAM printed on the Air unit and his initial A.M. on a graphic on the tongue.
We’ll have to wait for Nike to officially unveil the 2017 Doernbecher Freestyle Collection to learn a release date, but enjoy an early look at the VaporMax here.
