Is Nike Releasing A “Biggie vs. Tupac” Pack?

A lot of the fun behind Nike SB’s shoe releases since 2002 is unearthing the references and concepts behind the designs. According to these catalog images revealed by Instagram account @nikesbornothing, it appears that the Swoosh brand’s skate wing is releasing a set of footwear inspired by the East-side vs. West-side hip-hop rivalry with Biggie and Tupac as the respective figureheads. While it is unlikely that these are an official tie to these cultural icons, this catalog image points to a chambray and plaid design for Notorious B.I.G.’s Dunk Low and a black denim and paisley handkerchief for Tupac’s Air Force II. These are rumored to be launching in May, so stay tuned for some interesting developments and remember – this isn’t the first time Biggie inspired an SB Dunk release.
