As far as Jordan Brand is concerned, 2018 has been the year of the Air Jordan 3, as it is celebrating its 30th anniversary. This has brought back a plethora of original colorways the likes of the “Black/Cement”, while also introducing new aesthetics by way of Tinker Hatfield’s original design sketch. In similar fashion, 2019 will be the 30th anniversary of the Air Jordan 4, and the Jumpman has corresponding plans in store for the 1989 original. One of the OG colorways that will be making its return is the AJ4 “Fire Red” pictured here, that utilizes a primarily white leather upper with red and black mixed in for a signature Bulls-colored theme. Much to the delight of die-hard Jordan Brand fanatics, this sneaker will feature the highly-preferred Nike Air logo on its heel as opposed to the Jumpman insignia.
If the return of this icon isn’t enough to get you excited, its Bred-colored counterpart is set to be making a comeback in its original form as well. At the moment, no release date has been reported, but you can expect the Air Jordan 4 “Fire Red” as well as many other interpretations of MJ’s fourth signature shoe to arrive at retail in 2019. While you wait, check out the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 4 and the Air Jordan 4 “Raptors” that will be dropping in the coming weeks.
