Earlier this year, Jordan Brand brought back the final shoe that Michael Jordan ever wore as a professional basketball player, the Air Jordan 18 in Sport Royal. Serving as a rare nod to MJ’s oft-overlooked Wizards days, it came in an apropriate combination of white and Sport Royal. Now, an OG black version from that same 2002 campaign – that went on to release in 2003 – is set to join its white leather counterpart with a release later in the year. In addition to the black replacing the white, this pair also ushers in an upgraded suede construction for a slightly more luxurious touch. Metallic silver accents further than notion on elements the likes of its Jumpman and 23 on the removable shroud as well as its eyelet hardware. An eye-catching Sport Royal carbon fiber midsole finishes off the look in style, with one more tip of the proverbial cap to Jordan’s playing says in D.C. Currently, a release date is scheduled for October 25th, but stay tuned for updates on whether or not that is expected to change.
