With positive reviews for Nike’s Vapormax sole units continuously pouring in, the Swoosh has decided to continue infusing its technology into more and more of its models. Whether it be by hybridized versions the likes of the Vapormax Plus or the New Vapormax 95, or brand new Vapormax silhouettes all together – the likes of the Utility – there are plenty of new and exciting options for appreciators of those eye-catching bubbles. Next up, is the brand new Vapormax Premier Flyknit that appears to surprisingly draw inspiration from the late-90s classic, Air Zoom GP. Debuting in 1999, Gary Payton’s Air Zoom GP perfectly fit the aesthetic of on-court hoops sneakers at the time, sporting a bold construction and being dressed in a number of flashy color schemes.
Today, the Beaverton Brand is borrowing the GP’s lateral mudguard and transitioning it onto the medial side of this lifestyle-ready Vapormax selection. Its lace-free midfoot strap clasps shut for ultimate lockdown and carries the same varying-sized holes that can bee seen on the aforementioned mudguard of the GP. A Flyknit-infused upper and an extra layer of cushioning between the wearer’s foot and its Air unit will undoubtedly increase the comfort of this shoe that is designed to be worn in any and all situations you may find yourself in. At the moment, a release date has not been reported, but upon their arrival at retailers, fans of the Vapormax Premier will have a black and a grey variety to choose from.
