adidas, Parley, And University Of Miami Unveil Cleats Made Of Ocean Plastics

adidas, Parley, And University Of Miami Unveil Cleats Made Of Ocean Plastics

Parley For The Oceans and adidas’ long-standing collaborative partnership has resulted in a number of eco-friendly iterations on the brand’s top silhouettes designed with preserving the oceans’s sacred waters in mind. Now, for the first time, the two entities are expanding their efforts by creating the very first environmentally-conscious uniform, cleats included of course. Utilizing the iconic green and orange of the Miami Hurricanes – a school fundamentally intertwined with the ocean – the Canes will debut their new digs during their season opener against Louisiana State University in Arlington, Texas on September 2nd. Aside from the uniforms composed of 70% regenerated ECONYL yarn, players will wear the new adiZero 7.0 or FREAK x Parley cleats that are composed of equally eco-friendly materials.

“Our players and staff are excited to wear the new adidas Parley jerseys and gear for our season opener,” Mark Richt, University of Miami Head Football Coach said. “Community service has always been an integral part of our football program, and this partnership with adidas and Parley helps us continue those efforts.”

Utilizing Primeknit – normally reserved for Trefoil Brand sneakers – on both the uniform’s pants and jerseys, elements scattered throughout draw inspiration from adidas icons the likes of the NMD and Ultra BOOST. Grab a detailed look at the U’s upcoming Parley gear below and be sure too look for them this season as the Canes compete for the College Football Playoff National Title.
