Japanese graphic designer Verdy is a figure to watch in 2019. With his Girls Don’t Cry brand enjoying an extended moment in the spotlight due to its eye-catching text graphics and frequent collabs with other bubbling brands, Verdy — who counts BAPE founder Nigo as a personal friend — is now ready to turn the collaborative heat up a notch: his “Girls Don’t Cry” Nike SB Dunk Low is set to release later this year. Originally revealed at 2018’s Hypefest, Verdy’s simple-yet-effective design dresses the shoe’s upper entirely in red, with his signature “Girls Don’t Cry” logo embroidered on the lateral heel. More special branded hits appear via a butterfly logo on the tongue/text branding on the heel collar, and a white midsole/red outsole then provide the finishing touches.
