With the 95th iteration of Florence, Italy’s twice-a-year Pitti Uomo fashion event set to kick off this week, high-end Italian retailer Slam Jam has readied a special pair of Nike Blazer Vintage 1977s with a bold new upside-down Swoosh — in celebration of both the event and their 30th anniversary. Their unique Blazer features a timeless combo of white, grey, and black leather/suede with the former two colors providing the base, while black is used for the accents. While the lateral side Swoosh is left untouched, the medial side Swoosh is flipped upside-down for an interesting asymmetrical contrast, somewhat reminiscent of the cult-favorite “Menthol 10s” or the backwards design utilized on Travis Scott‘s upcoming Air Jordan 1s. “Class 1977” appears printed in black on the heel collar for a nod to the genesis of the now-iconic silhouette, and the simple-yet-striking look is then completed by retro Nike branding on the tongue/grey suede accents on the eyestays. Want to add a pair to your collection? You’ll need to be in Italy, as these special Blazers will be available for pre-order January 8th via a special Slam Jam pop-up occurring at the Museum Shop of Museo Marino Marni.
