Korean Label KANGHYUK Refines Deconstruction With Their Reebok SRS Sole Fury

Namesake label KANGHYUK, helmed by South Korean designers Kanghyuk Choi and Sanglak Shon, have come a long way since their debut back in 2016, pushing visionary design that can, at times, be quite divisive. With the many recent Reebok initiatives under the “Advanced Concepts” moniker doing away with the traditional template of collaborations — opting for much smaller, inventive releases a la the 1K CORP and Helen Kirkum set — their forthcoming SRS Sole Fury is a true display of their energy and design ethos, covering pairs with the same air bag material found throughout their recent ready-to-wear collection. With texture at the forefront, color is quite fittingly left by the wayside, allowing its frayed edges and three layer stacks of fabrication to create an avant-garde framing of a traditional silhouette. Red stitches serve as the only contrasting note, bleeding into the white upper’s for an extra note of individual charm. Grab a detailed look at the eye-catching piece below and expect a release to first arrive at H. Lorenzo on May 24th and then very select retailers come June.
