After an Air Max 1 Sketch appeared earlier this week, Nike is back again with another work-in-progress take on the 1987 classic: the “Schematic.” As the Tinker Hatfield-designed shoe was the first Swoosh Brand silhouette to bring visible Nike Air to market, these Air Max 1 releases are exploring different parts of the process of creation, and the “Schematic” nods to the shoe’s line work/construction, with a white-and-black colorway that looks as if it was lifted directly off a piece of sketching paper in Hatfield’s notebook. It also calls to mind the popular work of artist Joshua Vides, who presented Hatfield with a special hand-painted white and black Air Jordan 3 during NBA-All Star Weekend 2018. Each line of stitching or indented/embossed detailing is highlighted with black detailing either thin or bold, while plenty of technical notes appear on each leather panel, giving you a hands-on look at what brought these Nike shoes together. The sockliner also nods to the overall sample-like nature with a text hit that reads “Schematic, Property Of Nike, Not For Resale.” A blueprint brought to life as a physical product, these unique Air Max 1s are set for a September release, so enjoy a full look at all their striking accents directly below, and stay tuned for more information on a specific date of arrival as it’s available
