Ross Dwyer Inspired by Tinker Hatfield‘s original Swoosh-ed Air Jordan 3 design sketch, the Air Jordan 3 Tinker is an enthralling early idea come to life, and now it’s set to release in a “Black Cement” colorway. Much like the silhouette itself, this “Black Cement” makeup differs from the classic version, mixing black suede and leather on the upper with texture arriving by way of tonal elephant print overlays and a glossy Nike Air heel logo. Grey is used for contrast on both the tongue and eyestays, while a large grey lateral side Swoosh provides the shoe’s signature detail — one that was famously removed on the original model. Small touches of luxury are present as well, thanks to metallic gold detailing on the top eyestays, Tinker’s signature embroidered in gold on the inner tongue, and a golden graphic print on the insoles. A black/white midsole and grey outsole then finalize the look. As the AJ3 was the first Air Jordan that Tinker ever designed, it holds a special place in the history books and in the hearts of MJ-crazed consumers, so this alternate version is sure to be popular when it debuts on July 27th for $200 USD.
