As their summer-long celebration of 30 years of Torsion tech rolls along, adidas has enlisted the help of Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 to put their signature spin on the iconic support system, and they’ve done just that by equipping the new ZX Torsion with their signature black and white color scheme. Equal parts athletic and elegant, these bold shoes offer an upper that’s constructed of black mesh and overlaid with a rising and falling black suede mudguard. The low-slung black heel tab features Yamamoto’s signature printed in white, while the lacing system presents an artfully deconstructed look with its disconnected white leather eyestays. A leather sheath tongue and leather sockliner then ramp up the elegance just enough. Down below, the two-piece Torsion midsole is connected by a silver X-shaped stability plate, and injected with a healthy dose of Boost cushioning to present a fusion of Trefoil Brand tech both classic and modern. These new Y-3 kicks will release on August 22nd for an even $300 USD, so check out our store list to see where you can snag a pair.
