Chicago Artist Cody Hudson And Nike Highlight “Higher Than Air” Collection For Upcoming Marathon

Just two weeks away from the 2019 Chicago Marathon, Nike Running is teaming up with notable artist Cody Hudson once more for a brand new capsule collection featuring the Epic React 2 and Pegasus 36. Recognized for his graphic line work and palette of bright colors, Hudson applies a playful mix of polka dots and patterns on the two current silos for this installment of his “Higher Than Air” collection that first debuted earlier this Summer (he also designed two LunarGlide 4s for the 2012 marathon). Although each model is set to drop in the same two-toned navy and yellow color palettes, each pair communicates different elements of Hudson’s artistry. For the Epic React 2, the upper starts with a laceless white Flyknit base, and displays an all-over navy polka dot pattern accented with yellow tongue and heel tabs. Down below, a full React midsole is doused in a full navy hue in addition to a glossy navy heel cap to keep you nice and locked in during your trek.

Moving on to the Pegasus 36, the low-profile runner features mosaic design shapes plastered across the entire upper designed to mirror Hudson’s signature painting style. Additional accents arrive via yellow Swoosh logos on the lateral side, blue polka dot patterned Swooshes on the medials, and yellow midsole gradient hits that flow from the toe and gradually fade out towards the rear. Finally, each pair features symbols from each party laid upon the insoles with Swooshes and pinwheels on the left side, as well as mosaic shapes and a Hudson x Nike Running global branding on the right as a nod to their partnership.
