Michael Le Ostensibly saving the best for last, The Basement‘s Nike collaborations culminate in what is effectively a love letter to London proper, bearing palettes and removable swooshes as a subtle nod to the city’s growing creative culture and its striking architectural diversity. Made for the community and by it, the last Air Max 90 of the bunch has saved up a wealth of time in interest with an event release reserved in full only mere minutes after opening up. Bearing a vast array of grey shades across its entire colorway — tallying up to five total — its panelling sees contrast from element to element with mudguards bearing one of the lightest in its suede materials. Just adjacent a tumbled leather can be found altered in pigment by a touch though matching that of the branded tabs; top lines and the tongue are certainly among the lightest with intrigue raised thanks to their grid patterns across while forefoot constructions prefer a smooth set of materials. Graphic touch-ups along the translucent outsole and insole are ripe with their “REAL PEOPLE DO REAL THINGS” slogan, finished by a central swoosh modification that sports see-through bases and velcro’d edges for use with the yellow reflective, dark corduroy, white patent, and pearlescent options.
