The adoration of “chunky” shoes largely hinges on the method of construction, and trends have heavily pointed to leathers as the material of choice. Nike’s ZoomX Vista Grind is the antithesis of that movement. There’s no question that this new 2019 model was targeting the demographic of bulky sneaker loyalists due to its platformed and heavily chiseled midsole, but instead of a Monarch/M2K-esque build, it opted for the sleeker aesthetic akin to the React Element series. There’s nothing quite “dad shoe” about the Vista Grind, and that’s the reason why it easily stands out in a field absolutely overflowing with fattened silhouettes. It’s back again in a disruptive combo of gold and coral hits, further separating itself from the white leather builds. You’ll find these at Nike.com and select women’s retailers soon.
