Sneaker News If you love Retro, Nike has a mammoth list of drops waiting for you in 2025. Basketball icons are the focus for the Swoosh’s strategy to regain the attention of sneakerheads, and this March it will be the Air Max Uptempo that’ll be do a lot of the heavy lifting in regards to drawing interest from the community.
The Air Max Uptempo earns its spot in Nike history as the first-ever basketball shoe with a full-length visible Air unit. According to Nike, it was the “most Air cushioning we’ve ever put into a sole” and quickly became a hit both on and off the court once it debuted at retail in late 1995. It laid the groundwork for the rest of the legendary Uptempo series, which includes the Air Max Uptempo 97 and the iconic Air More Uptempo.
This March, Nike will indeed bring back the original colorway — the “Mystic Teal”. This exact pair was featured in the unforgettable phone ad series.
The Nike Air Max Uptempo “Mystic Teal” is expected to launch on March 2025 for $165. Also dropping later this year is the Air Max Uptempo “Lakers”.
