Michael Le As important now as he was in his prime, Mark Gonzales continues to make a lasting impression on this generation as he will on the next, with collaborations from Supreme still floating around with his own refreshingly unrefined artwork and now adidas Skateboarding pitching in to help cement the former pro skateboarder’s iconic career into history. One noteworthy part laid out atop the Aloha Super, the release is one fully inspired by the creative’s own Wallenberg Ollie palette-wise with model constructions in close connection to the adiStar fencing shoe worn by the Gonz during his 1998 performance art piece just a few years after. Flat neutrals equip with textural suedes at much of the overlays and base layers, accented by both black three stripes and salmon-toned embroidery that honor of the clip through the school’s asphalt and the trick’s backdrop, respectively. Sole units are tinted gum though not by much in saturation with translucent finishes revealing just the lower edges of the logo components.
